The start of the 2020 rowing season remains in limbo, and South Bend Community Rowing will continue to follow direction provided by state and local authorities. It appears social distancing will be with us for quite some time.
It has become apparent that our season, if there is one, will look much different than what we had hoped for. Due to the uncertainty surrounding the season, we have had to make some difficult choices. While we had previously canceled our Rowing 101 sessions, the first of which would have occurred next Saturday, we had held out hope that we could salvage our Learn to Row program scheduled for June. Based on the continuing restrictions and safety concerns associated with COVID-19, we are forced to cancel Learn to Row for the 2020 season. And, since we draw novice rowing participants from our Learn to Row program, we must also cancel our Novice rowing season.
We are hopeful that we will be able to resume our introductory programs next spring. Those who have expressed interest in our programs through our mailing list will receive periodic updates. Please also continue to visit our website and Facebook page for updates on the status of our programs.
Thank you for your interest in rowing and please stay safe.
